A little bit of this, a little of that, and a little cynical =P
Going to school can kinda do that to you. But seriously, there's nothing much to know.

Hey Justin. Thanks for the comments and fav on my HMC wallpaper "Colored Dreams". Haha yeah things did'nt really go so well with the borders, but im glad it worked out fine overall. And it sure feels great to finally put it in the gallery. No more working on that endless wall! xDD
I know i should make more timely replies, but i haven't really been keeping up with social stuff on the internet. D: real life has been pretty crummy the past weeks and my waller's block doesn't help (seeing as i turn to PS as a reprieve when i'm miserable-ish T__T).
actually, the future has been permeating my convos with real life friends these days too. there's the serious stuff, like prospective universities, staying local vs. moving to some other city, career paths etc (i just realized how many artsy friends i have o__o). but as with most of our chats, we joke around a lot. so it's not extremely intimidating.
of course i remember your collab. how's it coming along? you said it was "fairly close to being done" and it's been how long since then? anyway, you shouldn't be calling me "master painter" 'cause it's about 200 000 years too early for that. >xD my painting experience is minimal...although now that i think about it, i did paint falling snow for a wall before. o__o (that's not on AP though.) you might or might not need to hear this and some of it is pretty much logical but well, the flakes should be elliptical and have a slight blur/glow no matter what. size and opacity are the two main variables used to produce the illusion of distance. i suppose you could also manipulate the blur, but size and opacity alone work pretty well from what i remember. shading isn't necessary if the lighting is fairly even within the space that the snow is falling. and obviously if you flatten all the flakes into one plane, the distribution should not be near uniform, for prettiness' sake.
you are pessimistic to say that:

because i (and i'm sure a lot of people) do not believe this. you are more modest and self-critical than need be :O although i think i'm like you in that sense (because i'd say the same of myself, relatively lacking in talent, that is). It's my relative lack of talent that makes me appreciative and supportive.
Hey, thanks for your nice words on Blackbird. Flattering as always.

We should talk a little bit more...

You're not depressing to talk to. xD; while the unknown is naturally intimidating, planning and thinking ahead are essential. so it's more like facing reality, i guess? and yup, the best thing to do isn't on either extreme - so look neither too far nor just directly beneath our feet. it's like driving, your eyes can't be stuck on one spot for the entire time.
hammering away at your wall are you? how far along have you gotten? and no worries, now that you're back at work, i might take a vacation. after that last wall in posted in fmn, i don't have much inspiration/motivation.
haha, thank you, thank you *bows to the imaginary audience & applause* i'm honored to have the ability to drag you back to AP. very flattering. :] thanks as well for your support on my evangelion wall. maybe i do worry too much (a natural pessimist?). :O

Ehehe I didn't use any texture, just a lot of brushing. Thanks for the comment and fave much appreciated :'D
Thanks for the quick responses in fmn. are you more accustomed to revisiting "high school" now? xD
thinking about the future is depressing. so much pressure and so much at stake. speaking of planning ahead, i think schoolwork makes me do that the most. and speaking of schoolwork, my french teacher the other day gave my class a lecture on how we should appreciate the fact that we have so much homework. the less fortunate in other countries don't have the resources or privilege to be in school, so we shouldn't take homework for granted.
i didn't do much for spring break. went out a bit. slept in somewhat (i have an internal clock that causes me to automatically wake up a a specific time, give or take five minutes >__>). did some walling. and of course, the dreadful homework. D: doesn't sound like a lot, but time somehow still finds a way to fly by.

AH HAHA HAHAHA!
Time passes by fast. my studies are demanding more attention now and after struggling with some wall ideas, i can't even manage productive procrastination. it frustrates me that i'm stuck with decent ideas but horrible psds. D:
good luck with learning chinese (and college debts <--i don't wanna think in that direction yet ;__;). and you know, watching chinese dramas probably does help (unless you understand them through reading english subtitles). my french teacher says that hearing different people speak the language is good for listening and comprehension skills. and while i was learning japanese, the teacher showed us animated movies in japanese.
i love neat notebooks and can't have it any other way. :'D so thus far, the worst any of my notebooks has seen is rounded corners. well, on occasion a corner might get accidentally folded. but no wrinkles or huge folds. and lol, wrinkled shirts. it probably has something to do with how you dry/fold/store them. there's always the iron though...even if i don't know how effective it actually is.
